Marjorie Colebut-Jackson
MPTN ELDERS COUNCIL CHAIRWOMAN
DIRECTOR OF TITLE VI GRANT PROGRAM
Marjorie Colebut-Jackson, as the Director of the Title VI Program, has played a pivotal role in ensuring the program's success and effectiveness in serving the elder community. Under her leadership, the program has provided hot congregate meals and home delivery of frozen meals, ensuring that elders have consistent access to nutritious food, which is essential for their overall well-being and quality of life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Marjorie coordinated with various departments to administer Moderna vaccinations to elders, achieving an impressive vaccination rate of over 80%. This effort significantly contributed to the health and safety of the elder community, reducing the risk of severe illness during the outbreak. The home-delivered meals program, under Marjorie's direction, proved crucial during the government shutdown, providing not only meals but also snowplowing, wellness checks, emergency meals, and produce deliveries. These services ensured that elders' needs were comprehensively met during a time of heightened uncertainty and isolation.
Marjorie has also been instrumental in implementing the Elders Healthcare Needs Assessment, which has been vital in identifying and addressing the specific health needs of the elders served by the program. In her role, Marjorie collaborates extensively with state agencies and various organizations to ensure that a wide range of services is available to elders. If you are an elder in need of senior services and assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to Marjorie Colebut-Jackson at (860) 396-6121.
